From positive protons to negative electrons, electricity is one of my favorite topics to teach in Science, and almost every term can relate to a person's personality
Some people have that positive "spark of energy" or "glow" while others are negative "resistors." I'm finding that when I focus more on the "positive protons" in life, my overall health and attitude improve, and there's less "static electricity." (Ok, enough of my geekiness.)
In the "olden days," if one bulb blew on a strand of incandescent Christmas tree lights, the rest of them went out, too. It doesn't have to be that way. Despite the darkness, there are still lights shining all around us if we just look for them.
If you've ever read the Bible, you know that it's like one big soap opera of ups and downs. "But God" is in control, and despite the storms, there is victory in Him.
In these crazy times, may I encourage you to use your God-given gifts and let your little light shine. It doesn't cost anything to be kind, and according to numerous studies, focusing on others takes your mind off your own problems.
Make your own sunshine and spread it. (-:
(Random note: In the 2005 "Pride and Prejudice" movie by Jane Austen, Elizabeth uses the phrase "incandescently happy." While LEDs have taken over the market, I did find some old-fashioned incandescent Christmas lights on Amazon.)
